Children with a history of congenital heart disease are at risk for developmental delay, including motor delays, behavioral challenges and language and visual difficulties. Texas Children’s Cardiac Developmental Outcomes Program offers families careful evaluation by experts in child development so that appropriate interventions effectively support your child and your family.
Our multidisciplinary staff offers extensive testing and evaluations that can start in infancy and continue to offer support through adolescence. Rather than simply referring to physical, occupational or speech therapy, our team helps guide families through challenges they may face long term, whether that involves information about special education programs, psychological and behavioral therapies or community resources for children with autism or attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder.
The nation's #1 heart center
Proud to be ranked the best children’s heart center in the country by U.S. News & World Report for seven consecutive years.
Combining the best of developmental pediatrics with some of the best pediatric cardiologists in the nation, the Cardiac Developmental Outcomes Program prides itself in being well-versed in conditions that are both rare and complex.
